I chose to become a doctor because I enjoyed science from a young age and had a personal interest in medicine because my grandmother died of breast cancer. As a breast radiologist, I can assess patient risks for breast cancer, and use mammograms, ultrasounds, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) to improve patient recommendations and outcomes. All patients should be aware of their breast health and should feel comfortable seeking care for routine screening mammograms. When patients have new lumps, skin changes, or nipple discharge they should seek medical care immediately. I enjoy taking care of patients by showing them their imaging, reassuring them when everything is normal, and guiding them to the next step when they need additional care. My areas of special interest include: promoting breast screening in all women starting at age 40, encouraging early screening for patients at high risk for breast cancer and breast screening in transgender and gender diverse patients. Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, cooking and spending time with my family and cats.

UNC Health contracts with most health insurance companies including, but not limited to, the ones listed here. While we do our best to keep this list up-to-date, it often changes. Professional fees charged by care providers and organizations who are not employed, owned or managed by UNC Health may not be included under the same insurance contracts and may bill separately. Before scheduling your appointment, please contact the organization or care provider in charge of delivering these services as they may be able to help you identify who will be providing these services. Your insurance company can help to determine which specific services, locations and providers are covered by your plan as well as provide you with information regarding co-payments, deductibles or any additional charges that may be your responsibility. UNC Health makes no representation or guarantee of benefits or coverage. Services not covered by your insurance company will be your responsibility.
