Growing up in an extended family where almost everyone is a physician, I was drawn towards healthcare at a very early age. I got interested in dentistry in my teenage years but knew I wanted something more. Eventually, this led me to oral medicine, which a perfect bridge between medicine and dentistry. The medical side of dentistry is what I wanted since this gives me the opportunity to help patients who often struggle to find providers for their conditions. I believe good care starts with listening to your patients’ problems, giving them time and attention. Providing excellent care is a team effort, with which every member of our team contributes and plays their role. My clinical interests include autoimmune diseases, oral lesions and clearance patients. When I am not at work, I enjoy road trips, the outdoors and racquet sports.

Management of oral mucosal diseases, dental clearances for radiation, bone modifying agents, bone marrow transplant (BMT), solid organ transplant, valve replacement and other cardiac surgeries, orthopedic surgeries etc., management of oral manifestations of systemic diseases – eg., autoimmune diseases, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, hematinic deficiencies, management of oral fungal, bacterial, and viral infections, management of dry mouth, burning mouth, dysgeusia, dysphagia due to dryness, oral biopsies including minor salivary gland biopsy for diagnosis of Sjogren’s Syndrome, Schirmer’s Test, sialometry, fungal swab, management of non-odontogenic orofacial pain – e.g., trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) pain, etc., management of oral complications of head and neck cancer therapy – e.g. oral mucositis, osteoradionecrosis (ORN), medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ), etc.
