I have always been interested in science and during my youth became fascinated by the complexity of the human body. I began to explore the field of medicine and learned there were many opportunities to relieve human suffering and promote wellness. As a physician, I am fortunate to be able to combine my interests in caring for others, studying science, and teaching. I believe the first step in caring for others is to listen and be empathetic. This allows me to understand a patient’s priorities and concerns and to provide individualized care for their unique situation. I strongly believe in shared decision making after presenting patients with treatment options. I am particularly interested in caring for patients with diabetes and obesity. In addition, I enjoy evaluating thyroid nodules in our biopsy clinic. When I am not at work, I am very involved in my faith community, I love to garden, and I enjoy exploring nature with my children and family.
